Can Blanc de Vilacireres
Can Blanc was built in 1687. It was the most important ancestral house of the area: it was a food bank during the time of harvests that went wrong, it had many workers that harvested the land or drove the herds, with a workshop and our ironwork; they made their own light and they were the first to have trucks.
The inhabitants were practically self-sufficient.
But the depopulation of the rural areas affected the house and it was uninhabited for a long period of time, this provoked an important deterioration.
We are a couple that arrived at this house when it was nearly a ruin. After 11 years, with the collaboration of the owner, a lot effort and sacrifice, Can Blanc is a three century farmhouse, restored that has all the necessary comforts, conserving its essence and soul. This is what we want to share, this environment and this house.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Since the beginning we are committed with the principles of sustainability, we use proximity products, ours or from the area. That is why we are working and betting on a new model of non aggressive tourism, that meets the current requirements of our clients without compromising future generations; we want to have responsible management, preserve our natural environment without stopping taking care of it. We have the BIOSPHERE certificate, of sustainable tourism and international acknowledgment.
On the other hand we also collaborate with the businessmen of the sector, be they tourist establishments, artisans, producers of the Valleys of Pedraforca, with which we are associated, we work together to offer a quality product.
